Welcome to the Town of The Pas web site which will be your guide to help you plan your visit to our community.  Browse the pages and follow the links and you will learn more about our town and its history.

The Pas will be celebrating our 100th birthday in 2012.  Events are planned throughout the year and especially during the August long weekend.

Council is setting an exciting new strategic direction for The Pas that has an even greater emphasis on responding to local needs while accommodating more people and business activity.

We are making solid progress to ensure we remain one of the liveliest communities in Manitoba and a service center for North-western Manitoba. The home campus of the University College of the North is in The Pas making our community a center of higher education.  Advanced Medical Services are provided by the Norman Regional Health Authority.  Our Wellness Center is a model of partnerships where a world class fitness center houses rehabilitation services allowing young and old alike the opportunity to maintain their fitness.

By working with our partner communities in the area we are tackling major planning projects today to ensure we have the right mix of programs, services and infrastructure in place to support the region 20 years from now.  Only by addressing tough issues can we build on the town’s foundation and be ready for tomorrow.

Come and swim in our indoor pool, join a curling club, skate at the arena, learn our history at the museum, or walk our 15 kilometre lighted walking path. The Pas is your starting point for some of the best lake trout fishing at Clearwater Lake, the second clearest lake in the world!  Or you can try rainbow trout, walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike or other species!

We are truly the “Gateway to the North” and your vacation starts here in “Adventure Territory”
